Assistant Regional Master Instructor Allan Durnin

Allan Durnin is a dedicated martial artist and a prominent figure in the world of Rhee Taekwon-Do, holding the esteemed rank of 5th Dan Black Belt. With a rich history in the discipline, Allan serves as an Assistant Regional Master Instructor (Bu Chong Kwan Jang) and fulfils the role of Secretary General for the Far North Queensland and Tablelands regions, showcasing his commitment to the growth and excellence of Rhee Taekwon-Do in the local community.

Allan's journey in Rhee Taekwon-Do began in 1982, and within just two years, he achieved the remarkable feat of earning his Black Belt in 1984. His passion for the art led him to explore its roots firsthand, prompting a visit to Seoul to experience Taekwondo training with a local branch. This experience provided him with valuable insights into the high standards set by World Master Chong Chul Rhee, solidifying his dedication to the discipline.

Originally hailing from Perth, Allan has been a resident of Cairns since 1977. Beyond his martial arts pursuits, he has forged a successful career as a building designer. His professional journey has taken him overseas, including a stint in Tokyo, where he worked and travelled extensively throughout Japan, Korea, China, and Europe.

This global exposure not only broadened his professional horizons but also enriched his understanding of diverse cultures. Upon returning to Australia, Allan seamlessly integrated his passion for Rhee Taekwon-Do with his newfound experiences, commencing his journey as an instructor.

Over the years, he has witnessed numerous students progress through the ranks, ultimately achieving the prestigious Black Belt status. Rhee Taekwon-Do has not only been a martial art for Allan but a transformative force that has significantly impacted his life and continues to guide him into a future dedicated to excellence and the principles of this dynamic martial art of Rhee Taekwon-Do.
